Terms of Use & Contribution Policy
These Terms explain how PDF Service Manuals works, what you can expect from us, and what we ask from you when using the website or accessing a downloadable manual.
We have tried to keep them straightforward.
By using pdf-service-manuals.com, making a contribution, or downloading material through the website, you agree to these Terms.
1. About the Service
PDF Service Manuals is an independent website created to help riders find and access motorcycle service manuals, workshop manuals and related technical information.
The website provides a searchable catalog, manual information, sample previews and access to downloadable digital files.
Our purpose is to make useful motorcycle repair and maintenance information easier for riders to find and access.
2. Our Contribution Model
PDF Service Manuals operates using a contribution-based model.
The contribution requested through the website supports the work and infrastructure required to provide and maintain the service, including:
- Finding and reviewing manuals
- Checking model and year information
- Organizing and maintaining the catalog
- Preparing previews and manual information
- Website hosting and servers
- File storage and bandwidth
- File and malware checking
- Website development and maintenance
- Customer support
- Responding to manual requests
- Continuing to source manuals riders are looking for
Where a contribution is required before a particular download is made available, completing that contribution provides access to the relevant digital file through our delivery system.
The contribution does not transfer ownership of copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property contained in a manual.
It also does not mean that PDF Service Manuals claims ownership of third-party technical information or manufacturer intellectual property.
Our position regarding motorcycle repair information, copyright and rider access is explained in our Copyright, Repair Information & Rider Access page.
3. Before Making a Contribution
We want you to get the right manual for your motorcycle.
Before proceeding, please check the information shown on the manual page, particularly:
- Manufacturer
- Series
- Models covered
- Years covered
- Page count, where available
- Table of contents, where available
- Sample preview pages, where available
Motorcycle manufacturers sometimes use the same model name across different generations, markets or variants. One factory workshop manual may also cover several related motorcycles.
We make reasonable efforts to describe the coverage of each manual accurately using the information available to us.
If you are unsure whether a manual is appropriate for your particular motorcycle, contact us before making a contribution and we will try to help.
4. Digital Delivery
All manuals available through PDF Service Manuals are delivered digitally.
After a successful contribution, the website provides access to the relevant download. Download information may also be sent to the email address provided during the process.
Download links are provided for delivery and are not intended to serve as permanent online storage.
Once your download has completed successfully, please save the file to your device and keep a backup copy.
You are responsible for maintaining your own copy after successful delivery.
5. Download Problems
If something goes wrong with your download, contact us.
Typical problems may include:
- A download link that does not work
- An incomplete or corrupted download
- A file that cannot be opened
- A technical problem with our delivery system
- Receiving a file that materially differs from the manual described on the page
Please give us enough information to identify the contribution and understand the problem.
Where possible, we will first try to solve the issue by restoring access, correcting the download or providing the correct file.
We would rather fix a genuine problem than leave a rider without the manual they were trying to access.
6. Cancellations, Refunds and Digital Content
Digital files are different from physical products because once a file has been downloaded, it cannot meaningfully be returned.
For that reason, a change of mind after successful digital delivery will not normally qualify for a refund.
Likewise, where the manual delivered corresponds to the models, years and information clearly presented before the contribution, choosing the wrong manual does not normally create an automatic right to a refund.
However, this does not affect rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
If the file has not been delivered, is technically defective, materially differs from its description, or another legal remedy applies, contact us so we can review the issue and provide an appropriate solution.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
7. Immediate Access to Digital Content
Our service is designed to provide immediate access to digital files rather than requiring riders to wait for physical delivery.
Where applicable law gives you a statutory withdrawal or cooling-off period for online transactions, different rules may apply once you expressly request immediate delivery of digital content and the download begins.
Where legally required, we will ask you to consent to immediate digital delivery and acknowledge the effect this has on any applicable withdrawal right.
Your mandatory rights under applicable consumer law remain unaffected.
8. Use of Downloaded Materials
Motorcycle service manuals and related technical documents may contain copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property belonging to manufacturers, publishers or other rights holders.
PDF Service Manuals does not grant intellectual property rights that it does not own or have authority to grant.
You are responsible for respecting the rights and restrictions that apply to any individual document you access.
Unless the rights applicable to a particular document expressly allow it, you should not assume that accessing a manual gives you permission to republish, resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute that document.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of third-party intellectual property to you or to PDF Service Manuals.
For more information, please read our Copyright, Repair Information & Rider Access page.
9. Our Website Content
Original material created specifically for PDF Service Manuals, including our original written content, catalog organization, product descriptions, graphics and other original website content, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may link to our pages and make reasonable lawful references to our original content.
You may not copy or republish substantial portions of original PDF Service Manuals website content as your own without permission, except where applicable law permits it.
10. Motorcycle Manufacturers and Trademarks
Manufacturer names, motorcycle model names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
They are used on PDF Service Manuals where necessary to identify motorcycles, manuals or technical information.
Their use does not imply that PDF Service Manuals is affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by those manufacturers unless expressly stated otherwise.
PDF Service Manuals is an independent website.
11. Technical Information and Motorcycle Repairs
Service manuals contain technical information intended to assist with motorcycle servicing, maintenance, diagnosis and repair.
Working on a motorcycle can involve significant risks.
You are responsible for deciding whether you have the knowledge, tools, equipment and experience required to perform a particular procedure safely.
Always follow the safety information and specifications applicable to your motorcycle.
If you are unsure about a repair or maintenance procedure, seek assistance from a suitably qualified professional.
PDF Service Manuals is not responsible for damage, injury or loss caused by incorrect repairs, misuse of technical information, failure to follow appropriate safety procedures, or work performed beyond the user’s skills or experience, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Accuracy of Catalog Information
We put considerable effort into improving the accuracy of manufacturer, series, model, year, page-count and other catalog information.
However, motorcycle documentation can contain regional differences, revisions and manufacturer-specific variations.
If you find information that appears to be incorrect, please contact us.
We will review reasonable correction requests and update catalog information where appropriate.
13. Manual Requests
If the service manual you need is not available in our catalog, you can request it through our contact page.
Please provide the manufacturer, exact motorcycle model, model year and any known series, generation or variant information.
We will try to source the requested manual when possible.
There is no additional sourcing fee for submitting a manual request.
We cannot guarantee that every requested manual can be found or made available.
14. Fair Use of the Website
You agree not to:
- Attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the website
- Circumvent technical measures designed to protect the Service
- Use automated systems in a way that places an unreasonable load on the website
- Use the website for fraudulent activity
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts or files
- Abuse the download system
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, its users or the integrity of the Service.
15. Payment and Contribution Disputes
If you believe there is a problem with a contribution or download, please contact us first whenever reasonably possible.
Most download and delivery problems can be resolved quickly once we know what happened.
We may retain and use appropriate transaction and delivery records to investigate disputes and demonstrate whether digital delivery occurred, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising legitimate rights available through your payment provider or applicable consumer law.
Fraudulent use of payment methods or knowingly false disputes may result in access being restricted and may be challenged using appropriate transaction and delivery evidence.
16. Third-Party Services
PDF Service Manuals relies on third-party services for functions such as payments, hosting, email delivery and other website infrastructure.
Occasionally, those services may experience interruptions or technical problems outside our direct control.
When an external service affects delivery or access, we will make reasonable efforts to help resolve the issue.
Use of third-party services may also be subject to the terms and privacy policies of those providers.
17. Availability of the Website
We work to keep PDF Service Manuals available and functioning properly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.
Maintenance, server problems, security issues, third-party outages or circumstances outside our control may occasionally interrupt the website or download system.
Where reasonably possible, we will correct problems affecting the Service.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, PDF Service Manuals will not be responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of the website or downloaded technical information.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer protections or other rights that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
19. Privacy
Information submitted through the website and information generated through normal website and transaction activity is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We do not claim to collect or retain categories of personal information beyond those actually required for operation of the Service, transaction processing, security, support and legal obligations.
Please see our Privacy Policy for more information about what data is collected, why it is used and how long it is retained.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when the website, contribution model, applicable laws or our services change.
The version published on this page is the current version.
Changes apply from the date the revised Terms are published unless applicable law requires otherwise.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Missouri, United States, except where mandatory laws applicable to you provide rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded by this choice of law.
Any jurisdiction provision in these Terms is subject to those mandatory legal protections.
22. Questions or Problems
These Terms are intended to explain how the Service works, not to make it difficult for riders to get help.
If you have a question about these Terms, a contribution, a download or a manual, contact us.
If something has gone wrong, tell us what happened and give us a reasonable opportunity to look into it.
We will do our best to resolve genuine problems fairly.
