About the KTM 350 SX-F and 350 XC-F
KTM introduced the 350 four-stroke concept as a production motocross machine for model year 2011, aiming to combine the agility of a 250 with enough power to race in the premier 450-class environment. The production bike followed development work involving Stefan Everts and arrived with a compact fuel-injected engine, electric start, linkage rear suspension and a new chrome-molybdenum frame. Cycle World’s 2011 KTM motocross preview described the 350 as an all-new addition to KTM’s range, while the platform quickly gained credibility through top-level motocross competition. The displacement was deliberately unconventional: it created a middle ground between traditional 250F and 450F race bikes rather than fitting an existing class formula.
KTM expanded the idea almost immediately into cross-country racing. The 350 XC-F appeared for 2011 as the off-road derivative of the same basic platform, with Cycle World describing it as a dedicated machine for GNCC, WORCS and similar competition. The cross-country version retained fuel injection, electric starting and the linkage chassis but added equipment better suited to longer races, including a six-speed transmission, larger fuel capacity, an 18-inch rear wheel and a side stand. That relationship between motocross and cross-country versions became a defining feature of KTM’s middleweight four-stroke competition platform.
A major generational change arrived for 2013. Cycle World reported that KTM completely reworked its SX-F range with a new frame and swingarm, revised electronics, updated suspension and bodywork, while the 350 engine itself was redesigned. The 2014 machines were an evolution of that new generation rather than another clean-sheet replacement. Motocross Action’s 2014 test noted that the model had been a strong seller since its 2011 introduction and that KTM concentrated on a series of detail improvements for 2014 after the larger 2013 redesign. This places the 2014 bikes squarely in the second major phase of the 350 platform.
Within that generation, the 350 SX-F remained the pure motocross version, using a five-speed gearbox, 7.5-litre fuel tank, 19-inch rear wheel and WP 4860 MXMA CC fork. The 350 XC-F adapted the same 349.7 cm³ DOHC four-valve engine to cross-country use with a six-speed gearbox, 9-litre tank, 18-inch rear wheel, 13:50 final gearing and WP 4860 4CS fork. Both share the 88 × 57.5 mm bore and stroke, 13.65:1 compression ratio, hydraulic multi-disc clutch, electric starter and linkage rear suspension. KTM’s official model application archive separately lists 2014 EU and US SX-F models and the 2014 US XC-F, confirming the distinct variants represented in this generation.
This download is specifically the 2014 factory Repair Manual covering 350 SX-F EU, 350 SX-F USA and 350 XC-F USA. The cover identifies the publication as “REPAIR MANUAL 2014,” and the technical sections provide separate transmission, suspension, battery, tyre and fuel-capacity data for the SX-F and XC-F. Some wiring-diagram sheets are marked 2014-2015, but that limited electrical reference does not establish full 2015 mechanical applicability for the complete manual, so the catalog remains conservatively verified as 2014 only. Related factory publications are grouped in the KTM 350 SX-F manual catalog.
