Kawasaki Vulcan EN500
Kawasaki has used the Vulcan moniker for custom or cruiser bikes from 1984, model designation VN, with predominantly V-twin engines ranging from 125 to 2,053 cc (7.6 to 125.3 cu in).
1990–2009: Vulcan 500 series
The Kawasaki 454 LTD was replaced by the Vulcan 500 (EN500A) in 1990. The EN500A featured a parallel twin 498 cc engine that was substantially identical to the Kawasaki Ninja 500R. It was equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and a belt final drive. After 1996, the EN500A was phased out and replaced with the Vulcan 500 LTD (EN500C). Both versions were available in 1996. The ergonomics, as well as the engine tune, altered with the EN500C. The power range was shifted down by new cam shaft profiles and slightly lower compression pistons, which increased low end torque. The carburetors were also shrunk from 34mm to 32mm.
