About the Royal Enfield Himalayan

Royal Enfield introduced the original Himalayan in 2016 around the 411 cc LS410 platform. That first generation is mechanically distinct from the newer motorcycle covered here. For the earlier platform, see our Himalayan LS410 Euro IV service manual.

In 2023 Royal Enfield unveiled the all-new Himalayan 450, moving the model line to the Sherpa 450 platform with a 452 cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine, ride-by-wire fuel injection, a six-speed gearbox and a new chassis. Royal Enfield's 2023 EICMA launch material identifies the new Himalayan as a new platform powered by the Sherpa 450 engine, marking the major generational break from the LS410 motorcycle.

This factory service manual is marked EURO V - 2023 and Edition MAR 2024 and documents the 452 cc Sherpa-generation motorcycle. Later model years within the same mechanical generation can remain closely related when the core engine, chassis and systems are unchanged, but equipment, market specifications and production revisions can differ. Royal Enfield continues to list the Himalayan 450 on the Sherpa 450 platform, so exact compatibility should still be checked against the motorcycle's model year and market specification.
