Suzuki revived the RV125 VanVan concept for the 2003 model year as a compact road-and-leisure motorcycle with styling cues that deliberately echoed the original fat-tyre RV machines. The factory K3 documentation identifies the 2003 version as RV125K3, while Suzuki's own historical library traces the VanVan 125 name back to the original 1972 leisure bike, which was designed for varied road surfaces, sand and rough terrain. The 2003-2006 platform uses a 125 cm³ air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine with overhead camshaft valve gear. Factory specifications give a 57.0 × 48.8 mm bore and stroke and 9.2:1 compression ratio. Mixture is supplied by a Mikuni BS26 carburetor, while drive passes through a wet multi-plate clutch and six-speed constant-mesh gearbox to a chain final drive. This simple, mechanically accessible layout suited the bike's role as a light, easy-going 125 cc fat-tyre road and trail bike rather than a high-strung sport machine.

The chassis is defined by the VanVan's unusually broad tyres and low, approachable proportions. The factory data lists a 130/80-18 front tyre, 180/80-14 rear tyre, telescopic front fork and swingarm rear suspension, with a front disc brake and rear drum. A 770 mm seat height, 1,385 mm wheelbase and 117 kg dry mass make the machine relatively compact, while the wide tyres and simple tubular chassis give it the distinctive visual stance that separates the VanVan from conventional 125 cc commuters.

The service publication shows a clear development sequence within this carbureted generation. The base material is written around the K3 2003 model, followed by dedicated K4/K5 sections for 2004 and 2005 and a separate K6 section for 2006. The K6 chapter explicitly tells technicians to refer back to the earlier chapters for unchanged procedures, showing that Suzuki treated these years as one evolving service family. A separate K7 publication was then issued for the 2007 model and specifically introduced fuel-injection troubleshooting and servicing differences, making K7 a meaningful technical break from the carbureted K3-K6 group.
