About the Moto Guzzi Bellagio

Moto Guzzi launched the Bellagio on 26 March 2007 as a deliberately unconventional addition to its renewed Piaggio-era range. Named after the Lake Como town near Mandello del Lario, the motorcycle was positioned between traditional custom machinery and a sporting naked bike rather than fitting cleanly into either category. Piaggio’s 2007 reporting records the launch of the new 940 cc Bellagio, while Moto Guzzi’s period press material described the concept as a custom motorcycle with the agility and road behaviour of a naked. See the Piaggio Group 2007 annual report.

The Bellagio’s 935.6 cc engine was unusual within the contemporary big-block range because of its short 66 mm stroke combined with a 95 mm bore. The air-cooled transverse 90-degree V-twin retained pushrods, rocker arms and two valves per cylinder, but used Magneti Marelli multipoint sequential injection, twin 40 mm throttle bodies and lambda feedback for Euro 3 compliance. Factory launch data rated the engine at 55 kW, or 75 CV, at 7,200 rpm and 78 Nm at 6,000 rpm. A hydraulically controlled dry twin-disc clutch, six-speed gearbox and shaft final drive completed a drivetrain intended to feel more responsive and rev-happy than the larger-capacity cruiser engines normally associated with the class.

The chassis was central to the Bellagio’s identity. A high-strength steel double-cradle frame worked with a single-sided rear suspension and Moto Guzzi’s reactive shaft-drive layout, while a fully adjustable 45 mm Marzocchi fork, 18-inch front wheel, twin 320 mm Brembo front discs and a 180-section rear tyre gave it hardware closer to a roadster than a conventional laid-back cruiser. The standard model combined a 780 mm seat and 1,560 mm wheelbase with an upright riding position. Moto Guzzi’s own 2007 press description called it a custom with the soul of a naked, which accurately captures the sporting Italian shaft-drive custom roadster role the model occupied.

The platform evolved mainly through styling and equipment rather than a complete mechanical redesign. In the second half of 2008 Moto Guzzi introduced the Bellagio Luxury, with revised presentation and lower chassis dimensions; Piaggio’s 2008 annual report specifically identifies the Luxury as a major update to an existing model. In 2010 the Bellagio also became part of the Aquila Nera special-edition range. The motorcycle remained in Moto Guzzi’s catalog for several years after its launch, and the company’s 2014 range brochure still presented the Bellagio as a current model, describing its 940 cc short-stroke engine, six-speed transmission and CA.R.C. shaft drive.

This product covers factory Service Station Manual 854366 for the Bellagio 940 platform. The source includes both standard and Luxury-specific specifications, while factory parts documentation identifies the main Bellagio 940 parts generation through 2013 and the official 2014 range confirms continued model availability into 2014. Related workshop documentation is grouped in the Moto Guzzi Bellagio service manual catalog.
