About the Suzuki GSF600 and GSF600S
Suzuki positioned the GSF600 as a middleweight roadster within the broader Bandit-era range of the mid-1990s. Suzuki's official digital archive records the contemporaneous 1995 GSF1200 and 1996 GSF1200S as larger members of the same GSF road-bike family, while this factory publication documents the 599 cm³ middleweight platform from 1995 through 1999. The combination of a conventional tubular-frame road chassis, four-cylinder engine and straightforward servicing made the 600 a practical alternative to more specialized supersport machinery.
The GSF600 and faired GSF600S use a 599 cm³ four-stroke air-cooled DOHC inline-four with a 62.6 × 48.7 mm bore and stroke. Later factory W/X specifications list an 11.3:1 compression ratio, while the induction system uses four Keihin CVK32 carburetors. Power passes through a wet multi-plate clutch and six-speed constant-mesh transmission. Standard final reduction is 47/15, with selected E-03/E-33 specifications in later updates using 48/15 gearing.
The 1995 base specification lists a 1,430 mm wheelbase, 805 mm seat height and 196 kg dry mass. Chassis equipment includes a telescopic oil-damped front fork, link-type rear suspension with spring-preload adjustment, twin front disc brakes, a single rear disc and 17-inch radial tires. These dimensions and components place the motorcycle firmly in the carbureted 600cc middleweight roadster class, with the GSF600S adding wind protection while retaining the same basic mechanical platform.
The factory compilation shows how Suzuki evolved the first-generation platform without replacing its core architecture. The 1996 T update introduces revised specifications and service data, followed by V-model changes for 1997 and W-model changes for 1998. The final X-model section for 1999 continues the same 599 cm³ engine, six-speed gearbox and carbureted layout while documenting market-specific dimensional, electrical and final-drive differences. This continuity explains why Suzuki issued compact yearly update sections rather than entirely new workshop manuals.
This listing is for the complete 358-page factory compilation covering the 1995 base manual and the 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 update sections. No 2000 Y-model section is included, so verified applicability ends with 1999. The PDF is a scan and does not contain a usable searchable text layer. Related publications are organized in the Suzuki GSF600 manual catalog.
