About the Kawasaki Z125 PRO

The Kawasaki Z125 PRO belongs to Kawasaki's compact Z-series streetfighter family, and this factory publication also covers the closely related Z125 configuration shown on the manual cover. Kawasaki presented the Z125 PRO as a new 2016 model and described it as the smallest-displacement Supernaked in the Z family, intended for nimble urban riding. The company's Z125/Z125PRO environmental product page identifies the pair as successors to the KSR110, with fuel injection replacing the earlier carburetor system and with reduced emissions. The service manual reflects those related configurations through BR125G, BR125H and BR125J model codes.

The platform uses a 125 cc fuel-injected mini streetfighter engine: an air-cooled, four-stroke SOHC single-cylinder unit with a 56.0 × 50.6 mm bore and stroke and 9.8:1 compression ratio. Fuel delivery is by a single-barrel 24 mm Keihin fuel-injection system. The manual lists market-dependent output figures of 6.9–7.2 kW and 9.5–9.6 N·m, while the U.S., Canada and California specification does not publish horsepower or torque in the general-specification table. Engine lubrication is forced wet-sump with a 1.0 L total oil capacity.

All covered versions use a four-speed constant-mesh return-shift transmission and chain final drive with a 2.143 reduction ratio. The manual distinguishes clutch arrangements by model: BR125G uses a centrifugal and wet multi-disc clutch, whereas BR125H/J uses a conventional wet multi-disc clutch. The chassis uses a backbone frame, 26-degree rake and 69 mm trail. Twelve-inch tubeless tires measure 100/90-12 at the front and 120/70-12 at the rear, with a 100 mm upside-down fork and 104 mm mono-shock rear travel. Braking is by a single disc at each end. The manual lists a 7.4 L fuel tank, with seat height and curb mass varying by model.

Kawasaki's official Z125 PRO launch material highlights the newly designed 124 cm³ single-cylinder engine, backbone frame, inverted fork, 12-inch wheels and manual clutch, while Kawasaki's 2017 Z125 PRO Owner Center page confirms the BR125JH model family. The uploaded PDF is the second edition dated February 19, 2016. Its Model Application page lists only 2016 BR125GG/HG and 2017 BR125JH under part number 99924-1507-02, so the previous 2015 and 2018–2021 tags are removed. For related documentation, browse the Kawasaki Z125 PRO manual category.
