The 2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R in this publication carries factory model code ZX600P7F. The manual was issued as a first edition on January 30, 2007 and its Model Application page lists only that model year and code. Kawasaki's current Owner Center likewise identifies the 2007 Ninja ZX-6R as ZX600P7F. The P-series continued into the following model year as ZX600P8F in Kawasaki's 2008 parts catalog, but that later code is not included in this uploaded -01 revision, so this listing is intentionally limited to 2007.

The motorcycle uses a 599 cc fuel-injected supersport engine: a liquid-cooled, four-stroke DOHC inline four with a 67.0 × 42.5 mm bore and stroke and 13.3:1 compression ratio. Fuel delivery combines four Keihin TTK38 primary throttle bodies with four secondary multi-hole injectors. Factory specifications list 91.9 kW (125 PS) at 14,000 rpm and 66.0 N·m at 11,700 rpm for applicable markets, with lower figures in some regional configurations. The lubrication system is wet-sump with an oil cooler and total engine-oil capacity is listed as 3.8 L.

Drive passes through a wet multi-disc clutch and six-speed constant-mesh return-shift transmission to a chain final drive with a 2.688 reduction ratio. The chassis is a tubular diamond design with a 1,405 mm wheelbase, 25-degree rake and 110 mm trail. Suspension consists of an upside-down telescopic fork with 120 mm travel and Uni-Trak rear suspension with 133 mm travel. The bike uses 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear tubeless tires, dual front discs and a single rear disc. Factory dimensions include an 820 mm seat height, 17 L fuel tank and 167 kg dry mass.
