Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom VN900C Service Manual (2007–2015)

The Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom documented in this manual is the VN900 C-series cruiser platform, beginning with VN900C7 for 2007 and continuing through VN900CF for 2015 in this revision. The Custom configuration combines a long 1,645 mm wheelbase, 33-degree rake and low 685 mm seat height with a narrow 21-inch front wheel and wide 180/70-15 rear tire. Kawasaki's official 2007 Vulcan 900 Custom Owner Center page identifies the same first-year model as VN900C7F.

At its core is a 903 cc fuel-injected V-twin cruiser: a liquid-cooled, four-stroke SOHC two-cylinder engine with an 88.0 × 74.2 mm bore and stroke and 9.5:1 compression ratio. The manual specifies Kawasaki DFI, electric starting and transistorized battery-and-coil ignition. Power passes through a wet multi-disc clutch and five-speed constant-mesh return-shift transmission, then to the rear wheel through a belt final drive with a 2.063 reduction ratio. Factory specifications list a 20 L fuel tank and 3.7 L engine-oil capacity.

The chassis uses a tubular double-cradle frame, telescopic front fork with 150 mm of travel and Uni-Trak rear suspension with 103 mm of travel. Braking is by a single disc at each end. The manual distinguishes early VN900C7–C8 specifications from VN900C9–CF in areas such as mass and ignition timing, and its DFI documentation records model-specific sensor and wiring changes across the run. Later electrical sections also include wiring diagrams specifically labeled for VN900C9 and subsequent models, showing that this is an updated factory publication rather than a single-year manual reused without revision.
