Yamaha YZF-R6

The Yamaha YZF-R6 superbike was debuted in 1999 as the super sport version of the YZF-R1 superbike, as well as a companion to the more street-oriented YZF600R sport bike, which was offered alongside the R6. The motorbike had an entirely new engine design from Yamaha, capable of producing over 108 horsepower (81 kW) while stationary. The R6 was the world’s first 600cc production four-stroke motorcycle, with a standard power output of more than 100 horsepower (75 kW).

Since its launch, the YZF-R6 has been altered multiple times. Beginning with the 2003 model year, the R6 was fuel-injected. With a new engine management system incorporating the YCC-T ride by wire throttle and a multi-plate slipper clutch, the 2006 model year was a considerable advance. The YCC-I variable-length intake system was added to the 2008 model to boost power at high engine rpms, as was an updated Deltabox frame design.
