Indian Scout Service Manual (2025)

Indian introduced the modern Scout for the 2015 model year, bringing the name back on an all-new motorcycle powered by a 1,133 cc liquid-cooled V-twin and using an aluminum frame. Indian identifies that motorcycle as the first completely new Scout in more than 70 years.

For 2025, Indian redesigned the Scout family around the new SpeedPlus engine platform. The main 1,250 cc engine increased displacement and output over the previous Scout powerplant, producing 105 hp in Scout Bobber, Scout Classic, Sport Scout and Super Scout applications. Indian describes the new generation as an all-new Scout platform with revised design, technology and rider-focused equipment.

The 101 Scout revived one of Indian's most significant historical model names. The original 101 Scout appeared in 1928, while the modern 2025 version became the highest-performance member of the new Scout family. Its SpeedPlus 1250 produces 111 hp and is paired with inverted suspension, piggyback rear shocks and dual Brembo front brakes.

The other models give the same basic platform different roles. The Scout Bobber emphasizes stripped-down styling, the Scout Classic leans toward traditional cruiser proportions, the Sport Scout adds a quarter fairing and more aggressive appearance, and the Super Scout comes equipped for passenger and touring use.

The factory manual was subsequently revised to include the Scout Sixty range. R03 explicitly records the addition of Scout 60 information. These models use the smaller 999 cc SpeedPlus engine with 85 hp, 65 lb-ft and a five-speed transmission.
