Suzuki GSX-R 750

The Suzuki GSX-R750 is a family of 750cc sporting bikes from Suzuki‘s GSX-R series. It resembles a Suzuki Endurance racer and is the first inexpensive, contemporary racer-replica appropriate for road use. It debuted at October 1984 at the Cologne Motorcycle Show.

1992 GSX-R750 (WN)

  • New water-cooled engine, as well as a redesigned frame, bodywork, and suspension.
  • The oil-cooled engine was kept for US market versions, and the 1992 model is essentially the same as the 91 models with altered artwork.
  • For 1992 and 1993, a sleeved down version was released as the GSXR-600, with inverted forks.
  • The GSXR-600 was water-cooled for the US market in 1992, but the 750 had to wait another year.

1993 GSX-R750 (WP)

  • The engine internals were heavily revised, with the crank and connecting rods being forged steel rather than cast iron.
  • The valve-train was also changed, resulting in a substantial boost in power.

1994 GSX-R750 (WR)

  • Last year’s model had less power and weight.
  • This year’s inverted forks were blue anodized.
  • Instead of the ‘banana’ form of the previous model, the swinging arm now features higher bracing (similar to the 750RK).

1994-1995 GSX-R750 SPR

  • Special factory features on the ‘SPR’ limited-edition racing homologation model include wide-mouthed TRM40 carbs, a close-ratio gearbox, magnesium engine covers, an alloy water pump, six-piston brake calipers, and a redesigned braced swingarm.
  • A larger rear wheel with a wider 180 rear section tire was also installed.
  • The ‘SPR’ weighed 10 kg less than the WP.

1995 GSX-R750 (WS)

  • The final model to employ the double-cradle for increased rigidity was the 1994 model year, and the top fairing was completely redesigned with lighter, dual reflector beam headlights.
  • Motorcyclist claims it has the maximum ground clearance when leaning over, behind only a Ducati 916.

GSX-R750 (T) 1996

The 1996 GSX-R debuted a new twin-spar frame based on Suzuki’s RGV 500 GP racer. To help reduce weight, a new small and lightweight engine had magnesium coverings for the cylinder head, starting motor, and clutch cover. These modifications resulted in a weight reduction of 20 kg to 179 kg, but power climbed to 128 hp (95 kW). The weight issues that plagued the GSX-R during the first half of the 1990s were finally solved in this year’s model.

Other features were an electronically controlled “main jet block off under decel” system (for emissions considerations), 39 millimeter Mikuni carburetors, and fully adjustable 43 mm inverted forks. In addition, a 17-inch rear rim with a 190/50-17 tire was standard on all versions from 1996 to 1999.

GSX-R750 (V) 1997

Minor internal changes on the 1996 model resulted in increased aerodynamics.

Redesigned cylinder head with shorter valve angles for a more compact combustion chamber design, a higher compression ratio of 12.5:1, big intake and exhaust ports for increased intake and exhaust efficiency, and high power output The sizes of the valve buckets are expanded to accommodate more aggressive camshafts. To decrease weight and inertia, titanium valves with steel alloy springs and aluminum spring retainers are actuated by thin-wall hollow camshafts.
