Kawasaki Vulcan EN650

Since 1984, Kawasaki has used the Vulcan moniker for its custom or cruiser bikes, model code VN, with predominantly V-twin engines ranging from 125 to 2,053 cc (7.6 to 125.3 cu in).

2015-present: Vulcan 650 S Series

Sport cruiser is the designation given to the Vulcan 650 S (EN650AF/BF). In 2015, an Ergo-Fit system was introduced to improve personalized comfort adjustment for different rider sizes. At the time of purchasing, there are three foot peg placements, three seats, and two handlebars to pick from. The engine is a Ninja 650-derived 649cc parallel twin. The Vulcan S has additional low and mid-range torque thanks to a retuned, heavier flywheel and reworked intake. It boasts a highly non-traditional cruiser appearance, as well as a novel frame and suspension configuration.

Kawasaki Vulcan EN500

Kawasaki has used the Vulcan moniker for custom or cruiser bikes from 1984, model designation VN, with predominantly V-twin engines ranging from 125 to 2,053 cc (7.6 to 125.3 cu in).

1990–2009: Vulcan 500 series

The Kawasaki 454 LTD was replaced by the Vulcan 500 (EN500A) in 1990. The EN500A featured a parallel twin 498 cc engine that was substantially identical to the Kawasaki Ninja 500R. It was equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and a belt final drive. After 1996, the EN500A was phased out and replaced with the Vulcan 500 LTD (EN500C). Both versions were available in 1996. The ergonomics, as well as the engine tune, altered with the EN500C. The power range was shifted down by new cam shaft profiles and slightly lower compression pistons, which increased low end torque. The carburetors were also shrunk from 34mm to 32mm.

Since 1984, Kawasaki has used the Vulcan moniker for its custom or cruiser bikes, model code VN, with predominantly V-twin engines ranging from 125 to 2,053 cc (7.6 to 125.3 cu in).

2004-2010: Vulcan 2000 series

The Vulcan 2000 basic model, Classic, and Classic LT are all based on the same frame and have just minor variances. The most noticeable feature is the “bug-eye” chrome nacelle projection headlamp, which debuted on the 2004 Vulcan VN2000A basic model. Kawasaki’s only offering until the release of the Vulcan Classic VN2000D in 2006, which used a more conventional headlamp, was this headlight. The Vulcan Classic LT VN2000F was also released in 2006. The Classic LT had a similar look to the Classic but had saddlebags, a windscreen, passenger floorboards, and a passenger backrest.
