Moto Guzzi Norge 850

The Moto Guzzi Norge is a grand touring motorbike made by the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Guzzi from 2006 to 2016.

The name is inspired by the Moto Guzzi GT “Norge” of the 1920s. Moto Guzzi has been producing this motorbike since 2006, first with a 1200 cm3 engine and then with an 850 cm3 engine the following year. The key distinctions between it and the Moto Guzzi Breva are a big front fairing that covers part of the engine and provides great wind protection, a tip to redirect the air flow from the engine, and two more tiny fairings positioned on the sides of the bike.

The ABS is standard on the 1200 model and helps with stopping on slick surfaces. The engine is a Moto Guzzi-style transverse V-twin with a 90-degree slant and a tiny radiator to cool the engine oil. The final drive is provided by the cardan shaft compact reactive CA.RC, a Moto Guzzi invention that improves performance by decreasing the lifting effect typical of motorcycles equipped in earlier generations.

In the Tourer category, the Norge was named bike of the year in 2007 and 2008.

Moto Guzzi introduced a new model in 2010 with a new fairing, a new aluminum-coated exhaust system, and improved ground clearance; the engine is new, now with four valves per cylinder and homologated to Euro 3 anti-pollution laws, with greater power and torque.

The bike now comes standard with ABS, which can be completely disabled, an on-board computer with a lot of information in addition to fuel consumption, travel time, and the ability to check the state of charge via a digital voltmeter, heated grips adjustable on three levels of heat, and a new electrically adjustable windshield. The side bags, which were previously optional, have been redesigned and have gaskets inserted to prevent water from entering. The optional back case has been redesigned and now has a larger capacity.

You may get a satellite navigator, a gel saddle, a lowered saddle, and an electronic alarm as extras.

Moto Guzzi V9

Moto Guzzi V9 are neo-retro bikes marketed by the Italian firm Moto Guzzi from 2016, available in two models: Roamer and Bobber. These classic customizations replace the Nevada 750 and 940 Bellagio, which were discontinued in 2014.

The engine is still a 90° 1 V-twin tumbler and air-cooled. It is a new generation, small 2, and 853 cm 3 in size (like that of the V85 TT released in 2019).
(ABS is necessary for Euro 4) and traction control (adjustable and deactivatable) are standard features.
In comparison to V7, the frame is new.
The Bobber is all about style. It has a saddle height of 785 mm.
The rim design is similar to spoked wheels.
There are no passenger grab handles.
The water drop tank has a 15 L capacity ( 21 L for the V7).
The total weight when fully fuelled is 210 kg.
The small 19-inch front tyre and windscreen on the Roamer make it more road-friendly than the Bobber.

The Bobber Sport is a special edition of the Bobber that will be available in 2019 and 2020. It stands out in especially for its hlins with triple adjustment 3, single-seater saddle, and lowered front light.

The block meets the Euro 5 criteria in 2021 and now produces 65 horsepower (gain of 10 hp ). This engine is used in the new V7s (Stone and Special).

The Bobber Centenario was launched the same year to commemorate the eagle brand’s centennial. Some components are painted green to honour the great Ottocilindri.

Moto Guzzi V11

Moto Guzzi‘s V11 is a motorbike manufactured in Italy.

The V11 Sport debuted at the 1997 Milan Motor Show. However, the factory’s financial status is not ideal. It was not produced until two years later, after Aprilia took over the company.

It includes the colours that have defined the brand’s heritage, those that cover the V7 Sport: Verde Legnano green and a red frame. Marabese Design created the aesthetics.

It is powered by the 1100 Sport’s engine, a traditional 90° V that is air-cooled. It features a brand-new six-speed gearbox with an extractable selection mechanism that can be accessed without removing the engine block-gearbox. It produces 91 horsepower for 9.4 kg m. It is propelled by the 16M, a revolutionary Magnetti-Marelli multi-point electronic injection. The old cable clutch control is replaced by a more user-friendly hydraulic mechanism.

The beam serves as the frame. The inverted fork is made by Marzocchi, and the shock is either a Sachs or a White Power.

Brembo handles braking, with two 320mm floating discs and a 282mm disc grabbed by Gold Series four- and two-piston callipers, respectively. Brembo also supplied the three-spoke wheels.

The driving stance is athletic, with a forward lean, substantial wrist support, and highly bent knees. Nonetheless, the saddle has a lot of cushioning, which helps to compensate for the discomfort of the riding posture.

The structure was modified in 2001 to increase stability at high speeds. For the same reason, the wheelbase has been expanded to 1,490 mm.

To balance the pressure between the tubes, the factory installed a tiny tube under the alternator that connects the two exhaust ducts.

The V11 was removed from the catalogue in 2006.

Releases

Several versions of the V11 were produced.

The V11 Sport is the first model in the series. It comes in three colours: green, black, and grey, all with a red frame. The engine block, gearbox casings, and rear bevel gear are all painted aluminium grey. The aluminium spoke wheels will be painted in the same colour.

Its name was changed to “V11 Sport Naked” in 2001. It was manufactured until 2005. Although functionally similar, they will be available in different hues and with a matte and “grainy” black finish that will partially conceal the mechanics. The brushing will only affect the cylinders, cylinder heads, and rocker covers. Meanwhile, the wheels will be finished in a gloss black epoxy.

In 2000 and 2001, the V11 Rosso Mandello was sold. The frame is grey and red, the tank, seat cowl, and rocker covers are red, and the seat sides are grey. It has a windshield made of carbon fibre. Carbon may also be seen on the front fender and exhaust silencers. It is powered by a single-plate clutch. It likewise has black engine, gearbox, and rear bevel casings, but with a satin finish rather than a grainy appearance. Its wheels, like the rest of the production V11, will be black.

A numbered series of 300 copies was manufactured first, followed by an unnumbered series.

The V11 Sport CF was introduced in 2001 and was only available in North America. It comes in gunmetal grey or green and has a carbon fibre front fender, starter guard, and windscreen. $12,190 for $

The V11 Sport TT was introduced in 2002. It, too, was exclusive to North America, with a black tank and a grey seat shell.

The V11 Sport Scura is equipped with a tiny windshield and hlins. It was manufactured between 2001 and 2003 before being superseded in 2004 by the V11 Sport Scura R. All V11s now feature “grainy” black crankcases (except for the very first V11 Le Mans Rosso Corsa which have non-grainy satin black crankcases).

The Scura R is finished in black with a red seat. The windshield, fuel tank, and seat cowl are all striped in red.

The V11 Ballabio debuted in 2003. It has a windshield as well as a taller handlebar.

Between 2003 and 2005, the Scura was superseded by the V11 Café Sport. It had the same windscreen as the Ballabio, as well as hlins suspension, titanium and ergal footrests and levers.

The V11 Coppa Italia was also made between 2004 and 2005, with a green/white/red colour scheme on the windscreen, tank, and seat cowl. It also features a high bronze-colored handlebar and is unique in that it has a Magnetti-Marelli 16M injection unit that has been “officially” programmed for an Italian championship manufactured to measure by Aprilia (and which will not meet with any success).

The V11 Playboy EE (for Exclusive Edition) is a special series introduced at the Brussels in 2003 to commemorate the magazine’s 50th anniversary. This variant is only available in Belgium and the Netherlands, and it sticks out with its metallic grey paintwork, complete with bunny emblems, and titanium exhaust. Each purchaser receives a one-year subscription to the publication. Those who ordered before April 15, 2003 received two passes to the Playboy, which was held in Amsterdam at the Heineken Music Hall on April 25, 2003.

In 2001, the V11 Le Mans took up a moniker familiar to the brand. It features an encompassing fork crown fairing. It adopted a 43 mm diameter fork in 2002.

In honour of the Italian driver Omobono Tenni, the V11 Le Mans Tenni was produced at the same time as the Le Mans. The tank and front fender are grey, while the front fairing is green with white number plates. It makes use of a single-plate clutch. It is a limited edition of 170 copies that were sold between October 2001 and January 2002. In 2003, the Le Mans standard and Le Mans Tenni were withdrawn from the inventory.

Between 2002 and 2005, the V11 Rosso Corsa was manufactured. It’s red and grey with a checkerboard pattern on the tank, fork fairing, sides, and seat cowl. It has a hlins suspension package (the first ones will have the crankcases, gearbox, and bridge painted like the Rosso Mandelo, while the subsequent ones will have the Naked, “grainy” treatment).

The V11 Nero Corsa has many traits with the V11 Rosso Corsa. It is totally black, as the name implies, with the exception of the red rocker covers. It was first launched in 2003 and was later removed in 2005.

Moto Guzzi V85 TT

Moto Guzzi‘s V85 TT Enduro motorbike belongs to the middleweight adventure bike category. The motorbike was revealed at the end of 2017 and will go into production in spring 2019. It is designed to mix traditional appearance with current technology and is intended for road and light off-road use. This is mirrored in the model name, where “TT” stands for “Tutto Terreno,” which translates to “all terrain” in Italian.

Engine & Transmission

The engine is an air-cooled longitudinal 90° V-twin Four-stroke engine, as is customary for Moto Guzzi. It has two valves per cylinder that are operated by a single central crankshaft and rocker arms. Because of its light weight, the intake valve is made of Titanium, which allows for a crisp crankshaft profile. The fuel is injected electronically, and the air intake is regulated by a central throttle body with a 52 mm diameter. The throttle body is electronically controlled (i.e. ride by wire), allowing for various response settings. With a displacement of 853 cm3 and a compression ratio of 10,5:1, the engine produces 59 kW (80 PS) at 7750/min. Maximum torque is 80 Nm at 5000 RPM, with more than 70 Nm available between 3500 and 8000 RPM.

Power is sent to the back wheel using a 6-speed gearbox and a shaft drive. The Shaft drive is exclusive to the V 85 TT, the only middleweight adventure bike with it (as of April 2019). The motorbike meets the Euro-4 emission standard and has a WMTC cycle fuel consumption of 4,9 L/100 km, which equals 118 g CO2 per kilometre.

Chassis

The V85 TT features a steel trellis frame and relies on its engine as a weight bearing element. The front suspension consists of a 41 mm Upside-Down fork with 170 mm of travel and adjustable preload and damping. A single shock is used between the swing arm and the frame in the rear suspension. It, like the front suspension, has 170 mm of travel and adjustable preload and damping. Brembo dual floating 320-mm Disc brakes at the front wheel and a single 260-mm disc at the rear wheel compose the braking system. Moto Guzzi is the only company that sells the V85 TT with wire wheels. The front wheel measures 19 inches in diameter and is fitted with a 110/80 tyre, while the rear wheel measures 17 inches and is equipped with a 150/70 tyre.

Equipment

At the start of manufacturing, five colours were provided (for the EU market), divided into two trims: dual colour trim with red trellis frame (“Giallo Sahara,” “Rosso Kalahari”) or single colour trim with black trellis frame (“Grigio Atacama,” “Azzurro Atlante,” “Rosso Vulcano”). The dual colour model has Michelin Anakee Adventure tyres and a luxury leather seat, whilst the single colour variant includes a standard seat and Metzeler Tourance Next tyres. Moto Guzzi sells the dual colour model for 12.300 € and the single colour variant for 11.990 €. (German market).

Moto Guzzi V7

Moto Guzzi V7 Sport is a sporting motorbike produced by the Italian firm Moto Guzzi from 1971. The V7 Sport was the first Moto Guzzi café racer, based on the V7 roadster but with a revised frame and clip-on handlebars. The V7 Sport was lighter than the normal V7, handled well, and was well-liked.

The V7 Sport served as the foundation for succeeding models, culminating in the highly successful Le Mans.

Moto Guzzi debuted the “V7 Special” in 2008, a detuned retro-styled roadster largely based on the V7 Sport. In 2012, a more powerful 50 horsepower model replaced the “Special.”

In his 1972 road test, Motorcycle Mechanics editor Charles Deane noted that the V7 Sport, with a factory-claimed 70 bhp power output, was like a “BMW with a little bit extra” – a bit more acceleration, a higher top speed, and better braking – but it was also the most expensive “Superbike” available in the U.K.

“The brakes were ‘faultless’ – strong and progressive but did not prove ferocious, instilling ‘assurance’ in wet circumstances, and the ‘remarkably-low’ seat height allowed a ‘short’ 5′ 6″ rider to plant both feet on the floor but would be ‘cramped’ for a taller rider,” the reviewer continued.

Moto Guzzi Nevada 750

The Nevada is a motorcycle Moto custom created by Moto Guzzi that dates back to 1991 (under this name) as a modification of the V35. It has only been built in the 750 cc variant since 1999. In 2016, production ceased.

A special edition dubbed “Anniversario” was introduced in 2010 to commemorate the Mandello house’s 90th anniversary, and it remained in production until 2013.

Nevada’s origins may be traced back to another well-known motorbike, the V35 Florida. Born as a low-cost variant of the 650 cm3 version, it was also a version without attachments, which could be added for a price in any case. However, even when the bigger displacement was discontinued, the 350 cc continued to sell well, and the numerous requests led Moto Guzzi to restart manufacture.

For marketing purposes, it was decided to alter its name in the wake of the names of the United States, which, furthermore, were especially appropriate to the style of motorbike; so, following California and Florida, here comes 1991 in Nevada. The new V35 received a facelift, allowing it to reach the early 2000s to become the custom best-selling Italian vehicle. Indeed, it was updated not only in terms of appearance, but also of components, for the sake of comfort and even propaganda, as the new electrical technologies that were prevalent at the time were also quite important in terms of buying considerations.

The 750

The version with higher displacement seemed unthinkable to produce at first, especially given the VAT to be paid, until the 750 Nevada of 750 cm3 became available, an engine that was already mounted on various versions (from All Terrain to Road, for touring) so that it was considered an optional (not even the Nevada, but it was an addition) that can be mounted on a standard frame.

Given the positive commercial response, even though production of the 350 cm3 ceased in 1999, it was decided to begin production of a new Nevada with only 744 cm3, and the restyling arrives in 2004 with two significant innovations; the new engine with electronic injection inductive discharge digital Magneti Marelli -Digiplex Brembo with 320 mm diameter stainless steel gold series floating front disc and fixed calliper with 4 differentiated pistons. The two-tone Anniversary was restyled in 2010. The new 51hp single-fuel twin-cylinder was introduced in 2012.

Version for the PA

As with many Moto Guzzis, a police version, known as the PA, was developed throughout time, with the customary white blue and light blue colors depending on the supply to the public body, and which is currently used by Cuban traffic cops.

Moto Guzzi Sport 4V 1200 ABS

From 2006 until 2013, Moto Guzzi manufactured the 1200 Sport motorbike.

The bike debuted in October 2006, is based on the Breva, and is outfitted with the new 1151 cm3 engine that debuted with the Norge 1200 in May of the same year. The 2-valve engine was eventually replaced with a 4-valve engine in 2009.

It is a full-fledged Sport Tourer, with attachments like side bags, a top case, and a tank bag. Step 1 is to build an exhaust system that includes a 2-in-1-into-2 titanium Lafranconi, a specialized control unit, intake trumpets, and a carbon canister for collecting oil vapors. The intake and exhaust ducts, as well as the high compression heads, were polished in step two.

The 1200 Sport varies from the Breva in the colors of the windshield (black-white or red-white for the 2v, gray and white or black and white for the 4v, and red-white gold for the 4v Sport Corsa). two-tone, with a white backdrop for the instruments and a detachable single-seat seat cover in the same color.

The exhaust system is likewise distinct, with the 2v’s silencer made of faux carbon and the 4v’s silencer made of stainless steel with a triangle form; also, the 2-valve model without ABS came standard with braking’s SK Wave (or Daisy) front discs. Metzeler was installed in the 2V model.

Both the front and rear suspensions It has a typical Marzocchi at the front with Al-Tin surface coating on the stems. The declared speed is more than 220 km/h. The dry weight is around 230 kg.

The 2v engine produces around 95 HP (70 kW) at 7800 rpm and 100 Nm at 6000 rpm, while the 4v engine produces over 105 HP at 7000 rpm and 105 Nm at 6750 rpm.
