Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000

Dr. John Wittner earned a reputation for himself in the late 1980s by modifying MGs — his motorcycles won successive US Endurance Championships, among other racers. Because of his achievement, the Moto Guzzi factory invited him to travel to Italy to assist in the development of a superbike unlike anything the Italian company had made before. The Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000, the most powerful Guzzi ever made at the time, was born.

The 992cc V-Twin generated 95 horsepower and had a peak speed of 145 miles per hour. The Daytona kept the classic MG shaft drive, albeit they used a technology akin to BMW’s Duolever to combat shaft-jacking. Realistically, it wasn’t as agile as the Japanese competitor, but die hard fans loved it. Guzzi enthusiasts and riders searching for something a little unusual found it appealing and, because to the torque, quite easy to ride. From a 1993 Cycle World review:

“The Guzzi is a polished and thoroughly updated version of a machine many had left for dead. It probably won’t ever win a world roadracing championship, but there is no more charismatic motorcycle on the market today. Both the 888 and the Daytona are expensive. Both are exclusive. Both are exciting. Both speak to the emotions. And both are very easy to fall in love with.”

Moto Guzzi Breva V7 Café Classic

The Moto Guzzi V7 Classic, which debuted at the 2007 Milan Motorbike Show, is a classic Moto Guzzi motorcycle. This is essentially the “Breva 750″ model with new superstructures and restricted chassis and engine options.

The goal is to evoke two wonderful models from the past, the ” V7 Special ” of 1969 and the ” V7 Sport ” of 1972, which symbolize two significant production accomplishments in the history of the Moto Guzzi brand since World War II.

In comparison to the “Breva,” the “V7 Classic” features a tank, instrumentation, and side panels comparable to or influenced by the “V7 Sport,” while the white color is inspired by the “V7 Special.”

During the retrofitting process, spoked wheels with high shoulder tires and horizontal exhausts were used; elements that are now outdated in current bikes.

At the end of 2008, a version of the V7 Cafè Classic was released to the market, which, in addition to the forms, also incorporates the iconic Legnano green of the “V7 Sport” and differs from the “Classic” in a series of minor elements such as the exhausts. raised and saddle with integrated tail

According to the most reputable industry publications, the “Classic” has retained the model’s steadiness and directionality while improving handling on mixed and metropolitan roads. Some people have complained about the harshness of the saddle and the unnecessarily tight setting of the shock absorbers.

Since 2012, the V7 has been produced as the Moto Guzzi V7 Stone, V7 Special, and Moto Guzzi V7 Racer with new 50 horsepower engines, which were increased to 48 horsepower the following year. Since 2014, the V7 II model has included control switchable traction, ABS, a gearbox that has been upgraded from 5 to 6 gears, and other minor functional upgrades. Specific model modification kits are also available in four variants: Café Racer, Dark Rider, Scrambler, and Heritage.

The 850cc 65hp engine, which is currently utilized on the V85 TT, will make its debut on the V7 in February 2021. It’s a 90-degree transverse V-twin with rod distribution and rocker arms, with two valves per cylinder.

Moto Guzzi Breva V750ie

Breva is named for the Breva wind, which sweeps across Lake Como, where the Moto Guzzi plant is located. The bikes were available in four different sizes: 750, 850, 1100, and 1200. The three bigger versions differ from the 750 in that they have CARC suspension and improved performance.

Breva 750 i.e. or Breva V 750 i.e. (744 cc) (2002-2009): The Breva was Moto Guzzi’s first motorbike designed and launched after the business became an Aprilia subsidiary. The Breva 750 was publicly revealed to the press as a standard motorbike at Intermot 2002 in Munich. The Breva 750, like the Nevada, had a’small block’ engine drawn straight from the engine Carcano created for Guzzi in the mid-1960s that Tonti refined: a 750 cc V-twin rated at 48 horsepower (36 kW). The engine design is still ideal for everyday, real-world settings due to its ease of maintenance, longevity, and even, flat torque curve.

The first Breva 750 was handed to its owner on April 7, 2003, in a special event at the Mandello works to commemorate Moto Guzzi’s revitalization. Similarly, on the occasion of the company’s anniversary, the first 100 Breva 750s were given to their Italian dealers in a special ceremony on March 26, 2003 at Mandello del Lario headquarters.

Moto Guzzi Griso 1100

The Griso is a motorcycle made by the Italian motorcycle company Moto Guzzi from 2005 to 2016 in three distinct displacements: the 1100, introduced in August 2005, the 850, introduced in April 2006, and the “1200” 8V, introduced in November 2006 and marketed since September 2007. The Griso prototype, dubbed Tecnocustom, was unveiled for the first time in 2002 at the Intermot in Munich. The Griso was designed by Rodolfo Frascoli of Marabese Design.

Moto Guzzi announced the sale of the Griso 1100 for the first time on August 30, 2005, and formally displayed it to the press on September 8, 2005.

Instead, it will make its maiden public appearance on September 16-17-18, 2005, at the Guzzi World Days in Mandello del Lario.

The presentation at official Moto Guzzi dealers will take place during “Porte Aperte” 2005, on October 22-23, and will be followed by the first advertising campaign, which will bear the signatures of Antonio Maccario (executive creative director), Dario Mondonico (brand creative director), and Federico Ghiso (copy). Maurizio Cigognetti shot the photos.

The 850 and 1100 2-valve engine types were produced until 2008, when they were totally superseded by the 1200 8V series.

Griso 1100 (1,064 cc) (since 2005): meaning “gray one,” called after a gray-bearded figure in the renowned Italian literature story The Betrothed—a riding position halfway between sport and standard; debuted as a prototype at EICMA 2003 in Milan, while Aprilia still controlled Moto Guzzi. Piaggio swiftly developed the Griso for production after acquiring Moto Guzzi, adapting Guzzi’s famous V-twin engine to the new bike. An large oil radiator graces the right side of the engine, in full view, in line with the bike’s hard-edged, techno-custom appearance.

Moto Guzzi Norge GT 8V

Norge 1200 (1,134 cc) (since 2005): a GT (Gran Turismo) bike made by the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Guzzi from 2006 to 2016 and named after the original GT Norge, which made a 4,000-mile (6,400 km) test ride from the company headquarters in Italy to just inside the Arctic Circle of Norway’s Capo Nord in 1928 to prove its suspension prototype: the world’s first rear swingarm suspension. Moto Guzzi commemorated its 2005 Norge debut by retracing the 1928 route. The design of the Norge and its fairing was improved at Moto Guzzi’s historic wind tunnel at the Mandello del Lario headquarters, reinforcing the company’s history.

Guzzi has been producing this motorbike since 2006, first with a 1200 cm3 engine and then with an 850 cm3 engine the following year. The key distinctions between it and the Moto Guzzi Breva are a big front fairing that covers part of the engine and provides great wind protection, a tip to redirect the air flow from the engine, and two more tiny fairings positioned on the sides of the bike. The ABS is standard on the 1200 model and helps with stopping on slick surfaces. The engine is a Moto Guzzi-style transverse V-twin with a 90-degree slant and a tiny radiator to cool the engine oil.

The final drive is provided by the cardan shaft compact reactive CA.RC, a Moto Guzzi invention that improves performance by decreasing the lifting effect typical of motorcycles equipped in earlier generations.

In the Tourer category, the Norge was named bike of the year in 2007 and 2008.

Moto Guzzi introduced a new model in 2010 with a new fairing, a new aluminum-coated exhaust system, and improved ground clearance; the engine is new, now with four valves per cylinder and homologated to Euro 3 anti-pollution laws, with greater power and torque.

The bike now comes standard with ABS, which can be completely disabled, an on-board computer with a lot of information in addition to fuel consumption, travel time, and the ability to check the state of charge via a digital voltmeter, heated grips adjustable on three levels of heat, and a new electrically adjustable windshield. The side bags, which were previously optional, have been redesigned and have gaskets inserted to prevent water from entering. The optional back case has been redesigned and now has a larger capacity.

You may get a satellite navigator, a gel saddle, a lowered saddle, and an electronic alarm as extras.

Moto Guzzi Griso 8V 1200

Moto Guzzi launched the Griso 8V in September 2007 at GMG, having a radically redesigned engine with four valves per cylinder. “In doing so, the striking-looking Griso has been turned from a ponderous yet evocative old-school roadster into a charging rhino of a motorbike with actual 140 mph (230 km/h) capability,” Motorcycle News stated. The engine has been extensively updated to 1,151 cc, and the bike now sports a distinctive exhaust with a “8” cross-section at the back, as well as new brakes, handlebars, and seat.

The appearance of the Griso 8V SE is strong but athletic. The Griso 8V special edition motorbike is painted in a black and silver color scheme with a matte tone finish. The general style has been maintained sporty by the manufacturer. The motorbike has a silver polished muffler and a beautiful LED tail lamp at the back.

The motorbike has a high tensile steel tubular frame with fully adjustable upside down forks in front and a monoshock suspension in back. It comes with a single-sided swingarm. The front dual floating 320 mm discs with Brembo calipers and the rear 282 mm single fixed disc provide the stopping power.

The Griso 8V is powered by a 1,151cc 90 degree V-twin four-stroke engine that delivers 110bhp and 108 Nm of torque. This engine comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. The four valve cylinder head arrangement is a standout feature that contributes to the Griso 8V SE’s originality.

A large 90-degree V-Twin engine, pushrods, and Italian styling distinguish the motorbike in the Indian market.
