About the Aprilia Caponord 1200 and Travel Pack

Aprilia launched the Caponord 1200 in 2013 as its large road-oriented adventure-touring motorcycle. Piaggio described it as a new road enduro combining touring ability with advanced electronic control systems. The motorcycle was presented internationally in April 2013, with both standard and Travel Pack configurations available.

Its 1,197 cc 90-degree V-twin produced 128 hp at 8,500 rpm and approximately 115.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Electronic equipment included ride-by-wire throttle control, selectable engine mapping, three-level Aprilia Traction Control and two-channel ABS.

A major feature of the Travel Pack was Aprilia Dynamic Damping, or ADD. The semi-active suspension system automatically adapts damping according to road conditions, riding style and motorcycle load. The factory service manual contains separate specifications and diagnostic procedures for this electronically controlled suspension system.

The Caponord 1200 remained in Aprilia's range for several years. Aprilia's late-2016 official price list still included both the Caponord 1200 ABS and Caponord 1200 ABS Electronic Travel Pack, alongside the later Rally version.
