Honda Valkyrie
The Honda Valkyrie is a motorbike produced by Honda from 1996 until 2003. It was known as the GL1500C in the United States and the F6C (“Flat Six Custom”) in other regions.
Unlike the V-twin engines normally seen on “cruiser” type bikes, the Valkyrie engine is a 1,520 cubic centimetres (93 cu in) liquid-cooled, horizontally opposed flat-six engine shared with Honda’s Gold Wing model. The most noticeable engine alterations in its conversion from the Goldwing were the camshaft and the switch to six separate 28 mm carburetors, one for each cylinder, improvements that enhanced power and torque.
In Japan, the Valkyrie was available with a reverse gear. The Valkyrie was built in America at the Honda motorcycle facility in Marysville, Ohio.
Rune
In 2003, Honda released the Valkyrie Rune, a limited edition vehicle with a 1,832-cubic-centimetre (111.8 cu in) engine. In terms of style and mission, it was a significant departure from the original Valkyrie.
This model was built at Honda’s Marysville, Ohio motorcycle facility.
