The Aprilia RS50 is an Aprilia sport moped. Until 2005, the vehicle was powered by a 49.7 cc (3.03 cu in) liquid cooled single cylinder two-stroke aluminium cylinder block Motori-Minarelli AM6 engine.
Derbi’s D50B0 single cylinder two-stroke aluminium cylinder block, liquid cooled 49.9 cc (3.05 cu in) engine has been used in the updated model from 2006. The bike is popular in nations where motorbike engine capacity is limited at certain ages. The RS50 can reach speeds of 50 km/h (30 mph) in limited form, as required by regulations in several European nations for persons over the age of 16.
The 1997 model was tested at 105 km/h (65 mph) in its unrestricted configuration. This and other related motorcycles, like as the Derbi GPR 50 and Yamaha TZR50, have also been popular options as a more adult-sized alternative for MiniGP racing, which is usually dominated by riders riding smaller bikes like the Honda NSR50.
