Indian Challenger / Pursuit Service Manual (2020-2024)

Indian introduced the Challenger for the 2020 model year as a new fixed-fairing performance bagger built around the PowerPlus 108. The liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin produced 122 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque and used overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, hydraulic lash adjustment and a six-speed transmission. The chassis combined a frame-mounted fairing with an inverted fork, radial brakes and modern electronic rider aids.

The Challenger also became the foundation of Indian's performance-bagger racing program. Indian describes the platform as race-inspired and notes that it subsequently earned multiple King of the Baggers victories.

For 2022, Indian expanded the PowerPlus platform with the Pursuit, a long-distance touring model based on the same engine and underlying architecture. The Pursuit added touring-oriented bodywork, a rear trunk, greater passenger accommodation and additional equipment while retaining the 122 hp PowerPlus 108. Indian's 2022 archive lists both Pursuit Dark Horse and Pursuit Limited variants alongside the Challenger family.

The Challenger and Pursuit continued on the PowerPlus 108 platform through 2024, which is the final model year incorporated into this R04 service-manual revision. The next major service-manual break occurs with the 2025 PowerPlus range and the introduction of the PowerPlus 112, which belongs in the separate 2025 product we created.
