Yamaha XT660R/X
Yamaha Motors produced the Yamaha XT660 as a successor for the XT600, which is a dual-purpose on/off road motorbike.
It is an evolution of the original XT series (‘X’ refers for four strokes, ‘T’ means for TRAIL), a range of bikes inspired by the Paris Dakar event. The first XT was introduced in 1976. The regular Enduro variant is the XT660R (‘R’ stands for racing).
A 660 cc engine with five valves was used in a number of MZ (MuZ) bikes, including the MZ Skorpion, Baghira, and Mastiff.
After 2015, this bike was no longer available in various European nations and the United States.
Along with the XT660R, two more variants of this motorbike are being produced: the XT660X, a more street-oriented supermoto version, and the XT660Z Ténéré, an adventure touring version. All models share the same engine and certain chassis components.
