Triumph Daytona 675 / Street Triple / Street Triple R Service Manual (2006-2012)

Triumph introduced the Daytona 675 for the 2006 model year as an all-new middleweight supersport motorcycle built around a 675 cc three-cylinder engine. The triple-cylinder configuration set it apart from the four-cylinder machines that dominated the supersport category at the time. Triumph paired the compact engine with an aluminium twin-spar chassis and focused heavily on low weight and agile handling. The Daytona quickly became one of Triumph's defining modern performance motorcycles, and Triumph records its 2006 production launch as a major milestone in the company's history.

The Street Triple followed in 2007, adapting much of the Daytona's engine and chassis concept to a naked roadster. Triumph combined Daytona-derived performance and handling with upright handlebars, exposed bodywork and the twin-headlight styling associated with the larger Speed Triple. The service manual shows how closely the motorcycles remained related mechanically: both use the 674.8 cc DOHC triple, six-speed transmission and aluminium twin-spar frame, although the Street Triple uses a lower-output 108.2 PS engine tune compared with the Daytona.

For 2009, the range evolved in two important ways. Triumph introduced the Street Triple R, adding higher-specification suspension and braking components to the naked 675 platform. The Daytona 675 also received a substantial technical update around VIN 381275. This factory manual documents both Daytona specifications: output rises from 125 PS to 128 PS, torque increases from 72 to 73 Nm, and the later motorcycle receives changes including a hydraulic cam-chain tensioner and revised transmission and suspension specifications. Triumph's own history identifies 2009 as the launch year of the Street Triple R.

The D-series platform continued into the early 2010s. Triumph's service-literature fitment lists the relevant Daytona 675, Street Triple and Street Triple R families through 2012, while later VIN families mark the transition to the next generation. Triumph identifies the subsequent Street Triple family from VIN 560477, while the next Daytona family begins from VIN 564948. For catalog clarity, this manual should therefore be presented as the 2006-2012 D-series service manual, with the individual introduction years of each model shown separately.
