About the Honda CBR600RR
The Honda CBR600RR was introduced in 2003 as Honda's focused middleweight supersport model. For 2007, Honda carried out a full model change, developing a more compact 599 cc inline-four engine, a lighter aluminum frame and redesigned bodywork while reducing overall weight and shortening the motorcycle's wheelbase.
The 2007 redesign also retained Honda's PGM-DSFI dual-stage fuel injection and introduced a more compact version of the Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD). Honda reported an overall dry-weight reduction of about 8 kg compared with the previous model, with the changes aimed at improving acceleration, handling and mass centralization.
The 2008 CBR600RR continued this PC40-generation platform. Honda's electronically controlled Combined ABS version was introduced as a production model for 2009, so the 2007-2008 motorcycles covered by this manual predate the production CBR600RR Combined ABS model.
